SIGNPAINTING AND CASUAL LETTERING Course. 14th September 2024

Third Eye Signs' introduction to signpainting course is held at Lightspace in Meanwood, North Leeds. The day will comprise of an introduction to signpainting tools, brushes and paint, followed by practice and tuition with the four fundamental strokes that build the 'Casual' alphabet that makes a signpainter's signature style. From there, we build towards painting an alphabet and making a card sign to take home. 


An additional option at checkout will include a prepared enamel painted wooden panel to paint and take away- if you have a colour preference, please message.

The casual alphabet is a great way to learn confident brush control as it requires the painter to pull larger, confident strokes, rather than 'tickling in' designs with smaller strokes.

All equipment is provided and participants will have the option to buy the brushes they've worked with. Teaching is suitable for absolute beginners, creatives from other disciplines or designers wanting to get their hands dirty. Kieran will be available to answer questions all day, and can provide suggestions for further resources and equipment to work with, going forward.


A complementary day runs on Sunday introducing elements of painted script and block letters.


The session runs from 11am to 4.30pm, with tea, coffee and excellent homemade snacks provided.
